Did you know that creating a website for a minimal amount of money is possible? But where do I start?
The first things to consider are two important factors:
Essential Elements for Online Presence:
- Domain Name: This is where you’ll invest the only $20 per year needed for your project. I recommend buying a .com, .net, or .org domain. You can also get a completely free .tk domain online, but I don’t recommend it as it may not inspire enough trust among users.
- Free Hosting: It’s very simple—there are companies that offer free web hosting services. You can take advantage of these to start, but keep in mind that all free services have limitations. If your business idea could attract a large number of users, this may not be advisable. Some of these free services include AwardSpace, 000Webhost, 5GBfree, lucushost, X10 hosting, Byethost, Freehosting, Runhosting, among others.
- Security Certificate: A certificate can cost $100 or more, but you can use a well-known free option called Cloudflare, which offers great benefits. If your project scales to an e-commerce site, LMS, or something larger, I recommend purchasing a robust certificate.
The total cost for these three elements, using free options, is $20, which you will only spend on your domain name.
Website Development:
You can build a website in many ways, including using WordPress, which is free. The key point is how to learn to use it. This factor becomes crucial—how much time are you willing to invest to learn this platform? You can find an unlimited number of free tutorials online.
